10 Habits of a Productive Muslim 

With Ramadan in less than a week here are 10 habits you should implement to have a productive Ramadan  

 

1. Set the right Intention

إِنَّمَا ٱلْأَعْمَالُ بِالنِّيَّاتِ وَإِنَّمَا لِكُلِّ ٱمْرِئٍۢ مَا نَوَىٰ

Indeed, actions are judged by intentions” (Bukhari & Muslim)

2. Utalise the Barakah in mornings

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِأُمَّتِي فِي بُكُورِهَا

"O Allah, bless my nation in their early morning." [Tirmidhī]

 

3. Make dua for productivity

اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ 

O Allah bless me in what You have bestowed, and save me from the evil of what You have decreed. [Sunan an-Nasa'i]

 

4. Read Quran Daily

﴿كِتَٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَٰهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَارَكٌۭ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوا۟ ءَايَٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَٰبِ﴾

"This is a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, so that they may reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding may take heed. (38:29)

5. Incoprate zikr throughout your day

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ

subanAllah

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ

Alhamdulillah

اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ

Allahu Akbar

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ

La illah il Allah

 

5. Include Prophetic Food in your diet

The Prophet ﷺ ate dates, olive oil, honey, figs, black seeds, grapes barley bread, milk, pumpkin, watermelon & cucumbers

 

6. Seeking Knowledge

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said:

"طَلَبُ الْعِلْمِ فَرِيطَةٌ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ مُسْلِمٍ"

"Seeking knowledge is an obligation

upon every Muslim."

(Ibn Majah)

 

7. Make Salah a pillar in your routine

﴿قَدْ أَفْلَحَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۝ ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى صَلَاتِهِمْ خَٰشِعُونَ﴾

Successful indeed are the believers.

Those who humble themselves in their prayer."

 

8. Maintain a clean organised space

الطُّهُورُ شَطْرُ الْإِيمَانِ

Purity is half of faith (Sahih Muslim 223)

A tidy organised space reduces distractions and clears your

 

9. Focus On Small Wins

لَا تَحْقِرَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَعْرُوفِ شَيا وَلَوْ أَن تُلۡقِىٰٓ أَخَاكَ بِوَجْهٍ طَلِقٍ

The Prophet ﷺ said:

"Do not belittle any good deed, even meeting your brother with a cheerful face."

(Sahih Muslim)

10. Dress Modestly to Please Allah not society

“Allah is modest and concealing, and He loves modesty and concealment.”
Sunan Abi Dawood
